The old saying is true. One (wo)man's trash is another (wo)man's treasure.
Saturday's rummage sale was quite successful.
The weather was gorgeous and the people were ready to negotiate.
I'm all about trying to get and give a good bargain, but here's a pro-tip for future rummagers:
If you're trying to strike a deal, please do not use the line, "You know I don't have a lot of money" . Especially if you are asking to have the item carried to your luxury automobile.
I would have at least parked around the corner and struggled to carry the mixer myself!
But in the end, it was a great day and it's always so much fun to see all the people who come to shop and learn a little bit about them.
We sold just about all the items we put out and everything else was boxed up and donated Sunday morning.

ReplyDeleteHilarious! I totally know what you mean about garage-salers...beware. Around here, they try to pile a bunch of cheap stuff on top of things that are worth quite a bit more and pretend they don't speak English or hope you don't actually look into the depths of the pile. What?!?! So glad it was a success.
